The Weekly Bible Lesson
Unlike other churches that have a personal Pastor, Minister, or Preacher, the pastor of the Church of Christ, Scientist is the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. Each week Christian Scientists study a daily Bible lesson from these books. This Bible Lesson is then also read from the podium of our churches by readers each Sunday. This lesson consists of citations from the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science. Think of the Lesson-Sermon as a way to learn about spirituality through the Bible with related spiritual insights from Science and Health.

Each week’s lesson explores a topic of relevance and importance to daily living. Comfort, healing and inspiration from the Holy Bible are brought together with correlative ideas from Science and Health. These practical lessons can guide you to make intelligent choices and find answers to everyday challenges including healing physical problems.

The Reading Room is a combination bookstore, lending library and center for information about the teachings of Christian Science.

Everyone - whether you are a Christian Scientist or not - is encouraged to visit and browse, read, borrow or purchase the Bible; concordances and commentaries; Science and Health in 17 languages including English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Italian, Russian, and Braille; biographies of Mrs. Eddy; other books and periodicals including The Christian Science Sentinel, The Christian Science Journal, tapes CDs and computer programs for both adults and children published by the Christian Science Publishing Society; and The Christian Science Monitor, a Pulitzer Prize-winning international daily newspaper.

Reading Room Location
